The Museum is pleased to continue the series of One Icon Exhibitions for the coming year through June, 2014 featuring a series of icons that commemorate and/or depict specific feast days or religious celebrations on both the Gregorian (Western) and Julian (a reform of the Roman calendar introduced by Julius Caesar in 46 BC) calendars. Each exhibition will last about two weeks to accommodate both calendar dates. A feast day (or festival day) is the date a saint, a holy event, or a holy object is honored and memorialized in the liturgical life of the Orthodox Church. The schedule is as follows:

August: Saint Paraskeva with Scenes from her Life circa 1600
September: Minyeia 1995
October: The Last Judgement circa 1750
November: The Solovetsky Monastery Circa 1650
December: Saint Nicholas with Scenes from his Life circa 1830

January: The Apostles John and Prokhorus circa 1580
February: Saint Luke circa 1520
March: Saint Mark circa 1480
April: Icon in Multple Registers with the Orante Mother of God circa 1550
May: The First Nicean Council circa 1580
June: Saint Demetrios of Thessaloniki circa 1550

Cost: Free to Members or with Museum Admission.
