The Museum announces a series of One Icon exhibitions for the coming year through August 20, 2013, featuring a series of icons that commemorate and/or depict specific feast days or religious celebrations on both the Gregorian (Western) and Julian (a reform of the Roman calendar introduced by Julius Caesar in 46 BC) calendars. Each exhibition will last about two weeks to accommodate both calendar dates. A feast day (or festival day) is the date a saint, a holy event, or a holy object is honored and memorialized in the liturgical life of the Orthodox Church.
Cost: Free to Members or with Museum Admission.
