Have you ever really looked at the intricate beauty of a leaf, its shape and pattern? Learn how to capture that beauty in stone. Join us for our leaf casting classes and learn the process and technique of sand casting. You have the option of creating a single large leaf or several smaller size leaves. Participants are asked to bring their own leaves to class. Hostas, rhubarb or elephant ears could be used as a birdbath or feeder. Smaller leaves, such as oak or maple, could become a decorative element for the garden or your favorite paper weight. There will be two sessions. The first class we will create the molded leaves and, after letting the cement cure, we will return for a second class to clean and stain your stone leaf. All tools and materials will be provided. Don't miss this opportunity to permanently capture the essence of nature in a sand cast leaf creation. The instructor, Sandra Reardon, has always been inspired by nature and enjoys sharing her artistic skills with others.
