Known as “the Prince of Be-Bop”, recording artist and international performer Greg Abate (saxophones, flute) returns for a one-night-only free holiday concert sponsored by The Friends of Rochambeau. Greg has become a regular and favorite performer at the Rochambeau Library and we’re thrilled to have him back.
Greg Abate is an international jazz star who tours up to 150 days per year. He began his career as lead alto sax for the Ray Charles Orchestra and has played with the Artie Shaw Orchestra as well as his own groups. He has recorded with many jazz greats including James Williams, Claudio Roditi, George Mraz, Richie Cole, Kenny Barron, Red Rodney, and Herb Pomeroy, and one of his numerous albums, Evolution, received Grammy nominations in four categories.
