Bollywood..a name for the Indian Hindi Film Industry based in the financial capital of India.. Mumbai or Bombay, has spun many a fantasies.
Mr. Malkiat S. Gill and Mr. Surjit S. Gill came to the U.S.A. in 1986 and had there first restaurant open in Worcester in 1991, called the House Of India. It was in 1994 that they opened up another House of India at Pittsfield. And as the Indian food became more popular in the U.S., they opened Bawarchi in Boston, in 1996.
In 1997, they opened up another restaurant in Shrewsbury called the Chef Of India.It was in the year 2001 that they opened the Bollywood Grill in North Andover paying tribute to the great Hindi Film Industry.
Peoples response to the restaurants theme was spectacular, that they decided to open a second location In the year 2005 Bollywood Grill's second location opened up in Shrewsbury, Mass.
As Indian cuisine, especially the North Indian cuisine is becoming more and more popular here in the U.S.A., most of the hotel chains have started catering to the vast Indian as well as the American population.

Originally, the Italian Kitchen began at the East Side Improvement Club on Shrewsbury Street in Worcester. At that time, Chubby Panarelli began making homemade Italian sausage with his longtime friend and fellow cook, Umbie Urella. The great demand for their creation formed a need to expand and the first Italian Kitchen began at 172 Shrewsbury St. Later it was moved across the street where it remained for 35 years. It was there that almost every family member for 3 generations, including our mother at the age of 17, got to taste the great food and learn all facets of a family owned and operated restaurant. Then, in 1987, Carmella had an opportunity to open her own restaurant here in Brookfield. Carmella's Italian Kitchen won The Entertainment Book's "Best Ethnic Restaurant" award in 1998 and Worcester Magazine's "Best Restaurant Outside the City" award in 2003. After all these years, we still pride ourselves with "mother's homemade taste and style."

The Cocke 'n Kettle, located in historic Uxbridge, Massachusetts, is owned and operated by the Sampson Family. The restaurant opened its doors in the Spring of 1971 after extensive renovation. The family previously owned other Restaurants in both the North and South Shore areas of Massachusetts.
The Sampsons traveled to Uxbridge to attend the auction of the previous owners who had begun the tremendous task of conforming the house into a restaurant. It was known as the Cricket on the Hearth back then. They had no intention of buying the entire restaurant when they came to the auction, but after looking at the beautiful Estate and the historic mill town of Uxbridge, they had fallen in love with the whole picture. Without a second thought, the Sampsons bid on the entire property. The rest, as they say, is history!

The Salem Cross Inn is a Colonial restaurant situated on 600 acres of rolling meadows and woodlands in Central Massachusetts. The original building was constructed by a grandson of Peregrine White, the first child born on the Mayflower in 1620. Back in 1985 Chris Knight was a Training Kitchen Manager for El Torito Restaurants out of Irvine, California. The basis of his responsibilities were to train all new management coming to El Toritos chain of restaurants in the Northeast. He was based out of Norwood, Massachusetts. Later on in 1985 Bill Cocci, myself, was hired by El Torito to manage and was trained in all kitchen aspects of mexican food by Chris. In short, after a couple of years, each went our own way looking for other opportunities to advance our young careers. One night after a dead-end job interview I went to eat at a restaurant, sorry but the name does not come to me right now. Well, low-and-behold, there was Chris as usual, slaving behind a hot stove. We laughed and told stories and said, "see ya, keep in touch." A month or so later after a few more dead-end job interviews, an opportunity came up in Leominster, Mass. This was in 1992 to open a turnkey restaurant that was closed and formally a mexican restaurant. That restaurant is very well known as the Border Grille and Bar! It has been in business since we started in 1992. The folks who owned that property were very instrumental in giving us a shot in owning a business. Pine Ridge Snow Park (formally Pine Ridge Ski Area) re-opened under new management in the Fall of 2003 for the 2003-2004 Ski season. Pine Ridge is located in beautiful, historic Barre, MA.
The Upper Deck Sports Bar & Grille with vaulted ceilings and new, large, high windows facing the slope, it makes the upstairs a perfect place for enjoying food and drink while watching activities on the hill. The decor includes comfortably rustic furnishings, designer antler lighting fixtures and warm color choices, along with a handsome, custom built bar, carved in Spanish cherry. On the ceiling, large, rough cut oak was installed in post and beam construction. Two wide screen plasma TVs with HD sit high over the bar for uninterrupted viewing, and are wired to a superb sound-surround system. New flat screen TVs were installed both upstairs and downstairs in the lodge. Originally, the Italian Kitchen began at the East Side Improvement Club on Shrewsbury Street in Worcester. At that time, Chubby Panarelli began making homemade Italian sausage with his longtime friend and fellow cook, Umbie Urella. The great demand for their creation formed a need to expand and the first Italian Kitchen began at 172 Shrewsbury St. Later it was moved across the street where it remained for 35 years. It was there that almost every family member for 3 generations, including our mother at the age of 17, got to taste the great food and learn all facets of a family owned and operated restaurant. Then, in 1987, Carmella had an opportunity to open her own restaurant here in Brookfield. Carmella's Italian Kitchen won The Entertainment Book's "Best Ethnic Restaurant" award in 1998 and Worcester Magazine's "Best Restaurant Outside the City" award in 2003. After all these years, we still pride ourselves with "mother's homemade taste and style."

The Cocke 'n Kettle, located in historic Uxbridge, Massachusetts, is owned and operated by the Sampson Family. The restaurant opened its doors in the Spring of 1971 after extensive renovation. The family previously owned other Restaurants in both the North and South Shore areas of Massachusetts. The Sampsons traveled to Uxbridge to attend the auction of the previous owners who had begun the tremendous task of conforming the house into a restaurant. It was known as the Cricket on the Hearth back then. They had no intention of buying the entire restaurant when they came to the auction, but after looking at the beautiful Estate and the historic mill town of Uxbridge, they had fallen in love with the whole picture. Without a second thought, the Sampsons bid on the entire property. The rest, as they say, is history!

With a soundtrack ranging from the Rat Pack to the Four Tenors and an atmosphere rife with checked tablecloths and soft candlelight, Porto Bello is a haven for partisans of old-school Italian dining. The small room is split into two sections by a divider laden with wine bottles and Italian pottery, allowing for a measure of intimacy in a space that would otherwise seem cramped. The menu is markedly traditional in emphasis, catering to Neapolitan tastes with staples such as spaghetti with meatballs, chicken parmigiana, stuffed manicotti and several varieties of ravioli. The Salem Cross Inn is a Colonial restaurant situated on 600 acres of rolling meadows and woodlands in Central Massachusetts. The original building was constructed by a grandson of Peregrine White, the first child born on the Mayflower in 1620. Back in 1985 Chris Knight was a Training Kitchen Manager for El Torito Restaurants out of Irvine, California. The basis of his responsibilities were to train all new management coming to El Toritos chain of restaurants in the Northeast. He was based out of Norwood, Massachusetts. Later on in 1985 Bill Cocci, myself, was hired by El Torito to manage and was trained in all kitchen aspects of mexican food by Chris. In short, after a couple of years, each went our own way looking for other opportunities to advance our young careers. One night after a dead-end job interview I went to eat at a restaurant, sorry but the name does not come to me right now. Well, low-and-behold, there was Chris as usual, slaving behind a hot stove. We laughed and told stories and said, "see ya, keep in touch." A month or so later after a few more dead-end job interviews, an opportunity came up in Leominster, Mass. This was in 1992 to open a turnkey restaurant that was closed and formally a mexican restaurant. That restaurant is very well known as the Border Grille and Bar! It has been in business since we started in 1992. The folks who owned that property were very instrumental in giving us a shot in owning a business. Pine Ridge Snow Park (formally Pine Ridge Ski Area) re-opened under new management in the Fall of 2003 for the 2003-2004 Ski season. Pine Ridge is located in beautiful, historic Barre, MA. The Upper Deck Sports Bar & Grille with vaulted ceilings and new, large, high windows facing the slope, it makes the upstairs a perfect place for enjoying food and drink while watching activities on the hill. The decor includes comfortably rustic furnishings, designer antler lighting fixtures and warm color choices, along with a handsome, custom built bar, carved in Spanish cherry. On the ceiling, large, rough cut oak was installed in post and beam construction.
