Back in 1985 Chris Knight was a Training Kitchen Manager for El Torito Restaurants out of Irvine, California. The basis of his responsibilities were to train all new management coming to El Toritos chain of restaurants in the Northeast. He was based out of Norwood, Massachusetts. Later on in 1985 Bill Cocci, myself, was hired by El Torito to manage and was trained in all kitchen aspects of mexican food by Chris. In short, after a couple of years, each went our own way looking for other opportunities to advance our young careers. One night after a dead-end job interview I went to eat at a restaurant, sorry but the name does not come to me right now. Well, low-and-behold, there was Chris as usual, slaving behind a hot stove. We laughed and told stories and said, "see ya, keep in touch." A month or so later after a few more dead-end job interviews, an opportunity came up in Leominster, Mass. This was in 1992 to open a turnkey restaurant that was closed and formally a mexican restaurant. That restaurant is very well known as the Border Grille and Bar! It has been in business since we started in 1992. The folks who owned that property were very instrumental in giving us a shot in owning a business. Pine Ridge Snow Park (formally Pine Ridge Ski Area) re-opened under new management in the Fall of 2003 for the 2003-2004 Ski season. Pine Ridge is located in beautiful, historic Barre, MA.
The Upper Deck Sports Bar & Grille with vaulted ceilings and new, large, high windows facing the slope, it makes the upstairs a perfect place for enjoying food and drink while watching activities on the hill. The decor includes comfortably rustic furnishings, designer antler lighting fixtures and warm color choices, along with a handsome, custom built bar, carved in Spanish cherry. On the ceiling, large, rough cut oak was installed in post and beam construction. Two wide screen plasma TVs with HD sit high over the bar for uninterrupted viewing, and are wired to a superb sound-surround system. New flat screen TVs were installed both upstairs and downstairs in the lodge. And, as all sports bars should, the walls are adorned with many photos, pictures and invaluable sports memorabilia from the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics & the Bruins.

If wine is your thing, you can order a glass of fragrant chenin blanc instead of tired old chardonnay, or a full-bodied shiraz instead of merlot. Got a beer belly? Choose from the Rhino's many boutique brews. If you're really nervous, the restaurant's talented barkeeps can conjure up something even more potent. Try the rhino tranquilizer'a mixture of Stoli, Grand Marnier, Cointreau, Amaretto, and cranberry juice. Still tongue-tied? The place is as noisy as a frat party, so you won't have to worry much about the conversation. The food? You can make a meal out of the appetizer selection that includes tequila shrimp, pan fired feta cheese on tomato slices, and mixed grill skewers of swordfish, teriyaki steak and souvlaki chicken. Back in 1985 Chris Knight was a Training Kitchen Manager for El Torito Restaurants out of Irvine, California. The basis of his responsibilities were to train all new management coming to El Toritos chain of restaurants in the Northeast. He was based out of Norwood, Massachusetts. Later on in 1985 Bill Cocci, myself, was hired by El Torito to manage and was trained in all kitchen aspects of mexican food by Chris. In short, after a couple of years, each went our own way looking for other opportunities to advance our young careers. One night after a dead-end job interview I went to eat at a restaurant, sorry but the name does not come to me right now. Well, low-and-behold, there was Chris as usual, slaving behind a hot stove. We laughed and told stories and said, "see ya, keep in touch." A month or so later after a few more dead-end job interviews, an opportunity came up in Leominster, Mass. This was in 1992 to open a turnkey restaurant that was closed and formally a mexican restaurant. That restaurant is very well known as the Border Grille and Bar! It has been in business since we started in 1992. The folks who owned that property were very instrumental in giving us a shot in owning a business. Pine Ridge Snow Park (formally Pine Ridge Ski Area) re-opened under new management in the Fall of 2003 for the 2003-2004 Ski season. Pine Ridge is located in beautiful, historic Barre, MA. The Upper Deck Sports Bar & Grille with vaulted ceilings and new, large, high windows facing the slope, it makes the upstairs a perfect place for enjoying food and drink while watching activities on the hill. The decor includes comfortably rustic furnishings, designer antler lighting fixtures and warm color choices, along with a handsome, custom built bar, carved in Spanish cherry. On the ceiling, large, rough cut oak was installed in post and beam construction. Two wide screen plasma TVs with HD sit high over the bar for uninterrupted viewing, and are wired to a superb sound-surround system. New flat screen TVs were installed both upstairs and downstairs in the lodge. And, as all sports bars should, the walls are adorned with many photos, pictures and invaluable sports memorabilia from the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics & the Bruins.
