Fitchburg State University's sixth annual Distinguished Speaker Series invites educators to learn about "The Art and Science of Teaching" from Dr. Robert Marzano, co-founder and CEO of Marzano Research Laboratory in Englewood, Colo. A leading researcher in education, Marzano is a speaker, trainer, and author of more than 30 books and 150 articles on topics such as instruction, assessment, writing and implementing standards, cognition, effective leadership, and school intervention. His books include Designing & Teaching Learning Goals & Objectives, The Highly Engaged Classroom, Formative Assessment & Standards-Based Grading, On Excellence in Teaching, District Leadership That Works, and The Art and Science of Teaching. Colleges of Worcester Consortium Career and Networking Fair

Beechwood Hotel, 363 Plantation Street, Worcester, MA
- Free for students, alumni, public; fee for employers
The Colleges of Worcester Consortium Career Services Offices will host Career Fair 2012 on Tuesday, March 27 from 12 to 3:30 p.m. at the Beechwood Hotel.
This event, sponsored by the career services offices within the Consortium, will feature 70 employers and graduate schools from across New England. Employers must register online at www.cowc.org.The event is geared toward college students from all majors and class years, but the general public is welcome to attend (resume in hand and business attire are required for general public entry to the fair). Students do not need to register in advance. Attendance is FREE.
Participants from 15 area collegespublic, private, 2-year,4-year and graduate programs will have the opportunity to talk one-on-one with employers who are looking for interns, employment opportunities, graduate schools candidates and networking.
