Sweet Honey in the Rock
Music / Singing - Performance
Friday, October 13, 2006
7:15 PM-10:00 PM
Weston Auditorium
Weston Auditorium
ASL Signing as an element of performance.
You have to see Sweet Honey in concert to believe that so much physical, emotional, musical and political power could come from only seven women. Their passion and liveliness makes singing for social justice sound like a cause for rejoicing. The seven of them are distinct as artists and yet, are also one ensemble overflowing with extraordinary musicians, poets, activists and performers. Their blended harmonies are out of this world-tight and different-as they reflect the variety of their music; exotic and wonderful.
Additional funds come, in part, through the Expeditions program of the New England Foundation for the Arts, which receives major support from the National Endowment for the Arts and additional support from the state arts agencies of New England.
Cost: Tickets: $28/general; $28/faculty, staff, seniors, groups, $10/FSC students & under 18. Reserved seating. Call the Weston Box Office at (978) 665-3347.
