Lundy Braun is an Associate Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and Africana Studies and a member of the Faculty Committee on Science and Technology Studies. Her research examines the historical production of race in public health and medicine. She has looked at the ways in which understandings of race shaped and were shaped by the development, application, and globalization of the technology of spirometry. She has also done research on and worked collaboratively with US and South African researchers and acrtivists on asbestos diseases in South Africa.
