Activist and entrepreneur Dean Cycon, owner of Orange, Mass.-based Dean's Beans and author of "Javatrekker: Dispatches from the World of Fair Trade Coffee," will give a talk titled "Business as a Vehicle for Progressive Change: Fair Trade, Sustainability, and Economic Justice." He will talk about his company's 100 percent organic, Fair Trade and kosher coffee as well as what it means to operate a sustainable, environmentally responsible company.
Dean's Beans is the winner of the 2005 Sustainability Award from the Specialty Coffee Association of America, as well as a 2004 recipient of a "Best Practices Recognition" from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.
Cost: Free and open to the public
